I count it such a privilege to work alongside of the men and women of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.  Please understand, the success is not by any means, “David’s alone.”  During the last 30 years, I have surrounded myself with a professional public safety team that has vast and valuable knowledge, who are highly educated and deeply dedicated, and feel a deep sense of responsibility and accountability to the citizens they serve.  Your sheriff’s office is mission minded and that mission is to provide professional public safety service to YOU! 

In our public safety efforts, we do not always do the popular thing or the pleasant thing, but we always do the proper thing according to the laws we are sworn to uphold.  For 8 terms you have trusted me to be YOUR SHERIFF, and I am committed to continuing to be the most innovative, indomitable, and insistent sheriff in the commonwealth of Florida. 

Currently, I hold the title in the state as “Dean of Sheriffs.”   In order to obtain and maintain that title, I have had to be not only innovative, but creative and have run a constitutional office like you would run a private business. It’s been about change and providing public safety practices second to no one.

I am a “Proven Leader.”  If you would allow me to serve you for a 9^th consecutive term, I will provide leadership in law enforcement with trust, integrity, and honesty!
